The following comment is from a new volunteer who has been contributing his artwork to the Bonsai Garden. You will notice his poster about supporting the Garden the next time you visit us. He even created an icon of me that I plan on using here on a regular basis.

To all club members:

Not many of you have met me.  My name is David Martin and I have only within the past few weeks made myself available to join your group.
To my satisfaction I have been warmly welcomed by each of you that I HAVE met.  In my near three quarters of a Century I can hardly recall a group of Gentlefolk with hearts as wide open as yours.
For a long time I have had a … well, dream sounds over the top but desire doesn’t quite get to it…maybe just a wanting to explore the Bonsai world, should opportunity come a-banging.  So now it has banged.  Opportunity, that is.
I am a rank beginner at these mysteries and like most of that class; I have murdered at least one Bonsai somewhere up the Pike a ways and figured I’d best leave well enough alone.  But I do want to learn and I hope that if you see me cocking an eye and ear in your direction should I be around when you are working…you will know that I don’t mean to snoop, just soaking up what I can.
So thanks for the opportunity and, well….. just thanks.
David Martin
P.S. Should anyone need help, don’t hesitate to ask (and I’ll see if I can find some for you.)
