{"id":10,"date":"2014-05-08T00:45:07","date_gmt":"2014-05-08T00:45:07","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/bonsailakemerritt.com\/?page_id=10"},"modified":"2024-02-07T16:48:02","modified_gmt":"2024-02-08T00:48:02","slug":"events","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/bonsailakemerritt.com\/events\/","title":{"rendered":"Events"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong><span style=\"color: #008000;\">Bonsai Class \u2013 Introduction to Bonsai<\/span><br \/>\n<\/strong><em><span style=\"color: black;\">Hosted by the<\/span><span style=\"color: black;\">\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"color: black;\">East Bay Bonsai Society.<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n<p>Free two hour class, fourth Sunday of the month except February and December, from 1-3 at the Bonsai Garden at Lake Merritt<\/p>\n<p>Have you recently gotten a bonsai tree and wondered how to take care of it?\u00a0\u00a0Do you wonder if it\u2019s alive?\u00a0\u00a0Have you gone through our Bonsai Garden at Lake Merritt and just wanted to know more about how we develop and maintain these wonderful trees?\u00a0\u00a0Then come to our\u00a0<strong>Introduction to Bonsai<\/strong>\u00a0class and get an overview of what bonsai is about.\u00a0\u00a0You\u2019ll learn about seasonal maintenance work such as repotting, trimming, watering and fertilizing.\u00a0\u00a0You\u2019ll learn about the basic styles of bonsai and the techniques we use to shape the trees.<\/p>\n<p>If you have a bonsai and would like advice on how to care for it or take it to the next level, bring it in!\u00a0\u00a0We will not have time to work on your tree, but will try to answer any questions you may have.\u00a0\u00a0(Make sure your tree is not diseased or infested.\u00a0\u00a0We don\u2019t want to contaminate the trees on display).<\/p>\n<p>You will also learn about resources in the area such as where you can learn more about bonsai and where you can find clubs, shows, supplies and trees.<\/p>\n<p>The class is structured to beginners and bonsai garden orientation.
