Initiated by the World Bonsai Friendship Federation (WBFF) in honor of Mr. Saburo Kato of Japan, the world bonsai patron and founder of WBFF. World Bonsai Day is recognized annually on the second Saturday of May. A bridge for international friendship and peace.

Join us at the Bonsai Garden at Lake Merritt to celebrate World Bonsai Day on Saturday, May 14, 2022, from 10:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Free 11×17 inch bonsai posters will be handed out while supplies last. Docents on duty to answer questions about bonsai collection on display.
